Casey's gone, nothin but a ripple

Did you Wolves fans expect this move? Certainly Casey may have his limitations, but he had this crew playing together, right?

  • I'm pretty sad about this, actually. By all accounts, Casey is a super nice guy (I have a couple of two degrees of separation connections with him - Britt Robson who writes about the Wolves & Twins for City Pages calls him the nicest guy he's ever met in pro sports.)

The Wolves' talent is not better than their record, so I don't know how you can pin this on Case. If Randy Wittman had the answers, he should have been giving 'em when he was an assistant. I can't imagine he's suddenly going to turn Mike James into Sam Cassell...

  • Yes I felt Casey was doing a decent job, and Whitman won't do much better. Casey helped cultivate a defensive identity and had some rusty tools to work with, and they're still 500.

This 4 game losing streak is a cop out reason to fire Casey by Wolves management. The Hawks loss sucked, but Detroit, Phoenix and Utah...come on. Any team could lose to those teams. I was hopeful the Wolves could win at least 3 out of the next 5 on the road. Now who knows what will happen.

  • Among the teams ahead of the Wolves in the brutal West, does anyone really think the Wolves have more talent? Not me. Phoenix. No way. Dallas and San Antonio. Ditto. Utah, Denver, Houston. No, No, No. Lakers? Well, that's debatable, but I'd still say no.

Marc Blount is playing the best ball of his career with the exception of 2 months prior to signing his big contract.

It was Whitman's job when they brought him back last summer. Had to get Casey out before he actually made the playoffs. Damn shame.
