Wrong Answer

It's bad enough the Wolves didn't get him, but it fucking sucks that AI goes to a division rival with a punk like Carmella.

I like the Sixers getting Andre Miller in the deal. Their Andre x2 backcourt will be quite nice for a few years to come. And two first round picks to boot.

  • Wow. The Iverson as 76ers era is done. What a friggin ride. He did great things for both Philly and the NBA. His game is breath taking. His accomplishments undeniable. It is always sad to see a player as great as Allen leave a city and team as well matched as Philly.

Now. AI is about to fuck things up, and that is bad news for Minny as well as a bunch of other suckers--I am sorry JLev, RatHouse, Red, Black and Blue and the Natti livin MeWolves.

I think Iverson will be able to play fine with Carmelo. The Sportsguy did a piece when the Iverson Wants to be Traded story broke illustrating the utter lack of talent Philly assembled around the baddest littleman ever (sorry Calvin and Tiny). Iverson will adjust his game just fine to Melo. This crazy 15 game suspension aside, Carmelo is having an amazing year. He is in MVP mode, and Iverson will feel that vibe even as Melo is serving his suspension. There might be less shots for the Swinging Two Man aka JR Smith, but who really cares about that no-defense-playing clown anyhow. Looks for Diaheria to get more playing time. Iverson brings Denver the chance to get some real big things done this year and probably the next three with Camby and Melo at his side--great trade for the Nugs.

I agree that Philly did alright with Miller. He is a great guy to pull Philly's seemingly disparate pieces together. He will find baskets for limited players like dalembert and folks like Igudola and Korver are gonna have straight fun with Andre throwing the rock. Webber and Miller can co-exist as well. The draft picks will help. . . but Philly needs to make some good picks AND develop them for that aspect top pan out. Losing Iverson is never good, but Philly got immediate help with Miller, cap relief with Smith and potential from couple last first rounders down the line. . . uh, guess that still doesn't sound so good.

  • Does anyone else think Denver has another deal on the horizon for defensive minded point guard? I sure do. Former Iverson sidekick Eric Snow has long been on the trading block in Cleveland and could probably be had on the cheap. Snow and Iverson went to the finals together for LB. Anyone think he's not in buddy George Karl's ear about it? If they can get him, then I think they look super good.

  • Even with the Wolves deals I can think of that involve Foye/James/Davis, Denver's deal was still better. If you're gonna blow up a team, draft picks, cap relief and Andre Miller would be the way to go.

Denver are punks with bad karma. I hope something goes wrong. They have assembled some crappy contracts and won't be able to bail out if they get in trouble. But for now, to have your hands tied with AI on the team and Carmella is not a bad spot to be in.

I was really ready for Target Center to blow up, and now it will be hard not to hear the crickets chirping. Jeff Grayson and Leah B. Olson comin' at ya from NBA City is not the Answer.

  • Didn't Eric Snow serve at Valley Forge with Goerge Washington? AI would be better paring with MumRa than that fossil Snow.

  • 'Melo Yellow is a punk partly for the sucker-punch-and-run-away move, and partly for phoning it in at the '04 Olympics and saying how he didn't want to be there and playing video games on the bench. Plus, the Minnesota press and the Target Center Jumbotron keep telling us that Denver is our big rival, so it seems we're supposed to hate all Nuggets.

No question, CAnthony is a good basketball player. I really hope he and AI can coexist, because that will be an exciting and dangerous team if they can. I still love AI. He basically WAS the 76ers for the last decade. If he has to leave Philly, I hope he wins, wherever he ended up.

I think adding someone like Eric Snow would be an all right move. But I love the idea of AI and Little Earl on the court together.

  • i seem to remember J-Lev "phoning" it in at court-in-the-sky, say 'Dave Cosloy fouls too hard' and playing with his dog on the sideline, while the Anderson brothers sweated out a two on two against some high school kids.
