Same As It Ever Was

To be real for second, the Spurs look like they are going to run the table.  OKC is awesome and the could break through.  But Pop, Timmy and Tony have got that familiar buzz saw cranking.  For the most part, ever since they swept the Blazers in the 1999 Western Conference Finals, I have had a smoldering hatred for the Spurs.  But the consistency of their excellence has won we over as an admirer.

  • Agreed - my Spurs stance has softened as well. Talented vets playing the game the right way. A few young role-players. I even like the ringer action of Diaw and SJax. Can't wait for this one.

The one thing about OKC though is that they've not only got the triple threat of flashy scorers, but they've also got the bigs that might give Spurs some trouble. Perkins is gonna be pushin' and shovin, and Ibaka will sky in the paint. Things could get interesting...

I think Spurs probably win, but I won't be able to help myself cheering for the OKCs. Duncan vs. Garnett Finals would fill me with nostalgic emotion.
