Downside Aversion

Chicago is in full blown hives over the prospect of a free-agent signing this week. So many possibilities, so many potential championships.

The owners have to be congratulating themselves on winning the latest collective bargaining contest and imposing the current salary structure - just imagine where we would be be if there was no limit on what teams could offer.

Still, there will be real losers in this round of free agency, especially teams that actually get players to sign. Surely one or more of these guys will have health or wealth problems. Just think of Agent Zero's 6-year $111 million contract. Funny that this was originally considered a deal for the Wiz with Gil leaving money on the table.

Downside aversion is a real motivator to inaction. I am sure we will come up with a new look Bulls but it is hard to know what to hope for.

Would Boozer or Lee be any kind of success, HP?

  • Plan B - save our money to get snubbed by Melo next year?

Missing out on this round of free agency will make the Rose-Noah championship all the sweeter.

Don't forget, we've got Luol Deng and Taj Gibson.
