McHale to replace Wittman as Wolves coach

Yeah, that should solve everything.

If they're not going to replace him with a qualified coach, the least they can do is hire an old favorite like Sam Mitchell. Or, there was an article in yesterday's Strib about Tony Campbell coaching a high school team in NY. Coming to coach the Wolves might be a step backward for him, but it would be fun to see that old timer back in town.

  • Whatever.

  • Silver lining in this is the key phrase, "McHale out of front office to coach". This could be them showing him the door, by way of the bench. It's like sticking a dog's nose where he had an accident. If you go to Startribune.com they have the most unflattering picture of McHale with the announcement.

I like Sam Mitchell, and that would mean 1 nice set of sideburns upgrade over what we have now. But I'm doubt he could really help.

    Like I said...whatever.

  • I agree with Dave: McHale's move to the bench is a move closer to being shown the door.

He probably should has just resigned with (semi) honor after the KG trade. Successful rebuilding often includes cleaning house at the top.

Kevin McHale, the bell tolls for you.

  • Is McHale Elgin Baylor Mach 2?

  • Honor? Even semi is a stretch. Besides drafting KG (a move which was effectively erased with the trade), there was not much honor in this managerial run. Sorry.
