We're having a rough go of it here in Chicago this fall. The Olympics goes to Rio, the City is $500 million in the hole, Conventions are running to Orlando, Bears are struggling and now this.
The more I stew about this the more I am convinced the NBA season is about 30 games too long. I would be glad to see a January to June season, 50 games with that much more intensity and then turn the volume up to 11 with the playoffs.
It is a long slog. I mostly agree with you. The only downside I could see is that the playoffs last for months, and the wear and tear differential between players who are perennial winners and losers would be much greater. You could play almost 60% more games on the way to a championship as a player on a crummy team. The upside of the downside is that said wear and tear might act as another equalizer, and mitigate dynasties. Plus it would give player rappers more time to tour.

I think it is pretty funny.
The NBA does need to repackage their shit some, but I love the 82. So many great games when it is going well.
